Milk and Honey Barn is a family-owned wedding and event venue in Lincolnton, North Carolina, conveniently located for couples searching near Charlotte, Hickory, Gastonia, Lake Norman, and the surrounding areas. Our venue combines modern barn style with approximately 9,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor space, outdoor ceremony areas, and room for celebrations both large and small.

Your venue affects almost every part of your wedding day, from how many people you can invite to where you'll get ready, what happens if it rains, what your vendors need, and how comfortable Grandma will be when the temperature decides not to cooperate.

For couples who want the convenience of being near the Charlotte region but prefer open space and a peaceful country setting for their wedding, Lincolnton offers a beautiful alternative to getting married directly in the city.

Milk and Honey Barn can accommodate celebrations of varying sizes.
Our most popular reception layout can comfortably accommodate up to approximately 250 guests, depending on the layout and needs of your wedding.
We currently provide:

12 rectangular tables
8 cocktail tables
240 white folding chairs
8 wine barrels with clear table toppers
When you're planning a larger wedding, we recommend discussing your expected guest count and desired layout with us so we can help determine the best use of the space.

This is one of the most important questions to ask any wedding venue.
Your Milk and Honey Barn rental includes private, exclusive use of the venue and grounds for up to 13 hours on your wedding day, along with many of the things you'll need to host your celebration.
Included amenities currently include:

Bridal Suite with makeup vanities, private bathroom, mini fridge, and TV
Groom's Suite with lounge space, private bathroom, mini fridge, and TV
Dedicated caterer's kitchen

We intentionally include many of the basics because we'd rather couples spend their time thinking about their wedding than figuring out where to rent 240 chairs.

Yes.
And if you've experienced North Carolina weather, you probably understand why this was important to us when designing the barn.
The entire indoor venue is air conditioned during warmer months and heated during cooler months.
We also installed radiant heated floors throughout the indoor space.
Our covered side porch even has radiant heated floors, providing another comfortable gathering space during chilly weather.
Two outdoor propane fire pits are also available upon request.
That makes Milk and Honey Barn a true year-round wedding venue, rather than a space that only works comfortably during a few months of the year.

Yes.
We want couples to have the flexibility to create a wedding that feels like their own, so you are not required to use a preferred vendor list.

We are building a recommended vendor list and are happy to share trusted options when requested.
The exception is bartending. Alcohol service at Milk and Honey Barn must be handled by our venue bartending staff.

If you're planning to serve alcohol, this is an important one.
Milk and Honey Barn allows beer and wine, and all alcohol must be served by our professional bartending staff.
There is currently a $500 bartending fee.
Couples provide their own beer and wine, while the bartending fee includes cups, cocktail napkins, ice, and bartending service items.
All beverages served at the venue must remain below 16% alcohol by volume (ABV).
You'll also want to make sure your event liability insurance includes the appropriate host liquor liability coverage when alcohol will be served.

Yes.
Your wedding rental includes a one-hour rehearsal, scheduled Monday through Thursday during the week prior to your event, based on availability.
For couples wanting additional access for a rehearsal dinner and early wedding preparation, ask us about our night-before rehearsal dinner and pre-decorating add-on.

Absolutely. We love seeing how different couples transform the same space.
Freestanding decorations are welcome.
For the protection of the venue, nails, screws, tacks, and anything that creates holes cannot be used. Command strips may be used for lightweight items.
We do not allow:
Glitter
Confetti
Birdseed
Open flames inside the venue
Battery-operated candles are a beautiful alternative to traditional candles.
For ceremony or exit tosses, biodegradable options such as petals, herbs, or dried lavender are welcome. Bubbles are also allowed.
And yes, sparkler exits are allowed. We simply require extra-long sparklers for safety.

We love when couples include their four-legged family members.
Pets are welcome to participate in your wedding but must remain on a leash while on the property.
If they're not being supervised, they need to be safely kept in a crate.
If having your dog walk down the aisle has been part of your wedding vision, you don't have to leave that idea behind.

We do not currently provide in-house wedding planning or coordination.
We strongly recommend hiring a professional wedding planner or day-of coordinator.
A Milk and Honey Barn representative will be on-site during your event to oversee the property and handle venue-related needs, but that person is not your wedding coordinator.
There's an important difference.
Your coordinator manages your timeline, wedding party, vendors, transitions, and all those little moving pieces that happen throughout the day.
Our job is to take care of the venue.
Having both makes for a much smoother wedding day.

Outdoor ceremonies are beautiful, but North Carolina weather occasionally has other plans.
That's one reason we designed Milk and Honey Barn with substantial indoor space and a large covered porch.
When you're touring, we encourage you to think about both your dream-weather wedding and your rainy-day wedding.
A good wedding plan isn't one that assumes everything will go perfectly.
It's one that still feels beautiful when Plan B becomes Plan A.

One of the things we've chosen to do differently is limit the number of events we host.
For 2026 and 2027 we only plan to host one event per weekend.
Your wedding isn't just another Saturday on our calendar.
We want time to prepare the property, give your celebration the attention it deserves, and avoid the feeling of one wedding being rushed out so another can come in.
That decision may mean fewer available dates, but it's an important part of the experience we want to provide.

We could answer this question by talking about the heated floors, beautiful chandeliers, outdoor spaces, Highland cows, or all the work we've put into the property.
But those aren't really our "why."
When we began dreaming about Milk and Honey Barn, we weren't simply trying to build another wedding venue.
We wanted to create a place where families could gather, friendships could be celebrated, and marriages could begin surrounded by beauty, peace, and genuine hospitality.
As a family-owned business, we've poured countless hours into this property. Every gathering space and every detail has been created with the hope that couples and their families will feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.
Our prayer is that every wedding celebrated here is about more than creating a beautiful event.
